  • The Atlas BP-9F is a commercial grade two post car lift. This above ground lift is perfect for those customers who need a base plate lift. If you have a low ceiling height in your work area, then the Atlas BP-9F is the perfect choice for a base plate lift.

The columns on the Atlas BP-9F are 9'3" tall, so this car lift can be installed in most garages with only a 10' ceiling. This 9000 LB car hoist weighs over 200 LB. more than our Atlas 9KBP 9000 base plate two post car lift. The Atlas BP-9F is a commercial grade car lift and should not be confused with many of the cheap above ground car lifts that are marketed by certain competitors as 9000 LB or 10,000 LB. capacity car lifts.

Where Do I Position My Two Post Lift In My Garage?
There are many factors that will determine the best place to mount your two post lift. This and other frequently asked lift positioning related questions are answered here.

How Do I Get My Stuff Off The Truck?:
Many customers do not have access to loading docks and forklifts. We have assembled some photos of our products being unloaded with and without the aid of a forklift. Many of our freight carriers have power tailgates on their delivery trucks. There may be an extra charge for the power tailgate, depending on the carrier. The power tailgate is normally rated at 1000 LB. capacity. This is not enough capacity to unload most of our lifts. However, when used properly (and safely), the power tailgate (in conjunction with some common sense) allows the customer to off load many of our products without the use of a forklift.
Watch our video on how to use a power tailgate to help you unload your product from a truck.

Most truck shipments will be delivered by a commercial freight carrier operating a tractor/trailer rig. The semi trailer will be enclosed. Most commercial carriers have smaller straight trucks and some have small flatbed trucks, but the majority of freight companies will not use these smaller trucks for your delivery. Greg Smith Equipment cannot guarantee the type of truck that will be used for delivery. You should assume that your product will be delivered on a tractor/trailer rig that uses a 53 foot enclosed trailer. This is a VERY LONG rig. It is the truck driver's responsibility to make sure that your product is brought to the back of the delivery truck. It is the customer's responsibility to unload the product from the truck.
Watch our video on how to unload your two post or four post lift from a semi truck.

    Dual Point Safety System:
The Atlas BP-9F has a dual point safety release system. Most above ground base plate lifts incorporate this dual point safety release system.

    Two Post Secondary Lock System:
Greg Smith Equipment is pleased to introduce the new Two Post Secondary Lock System.

    Chain-Over-Roller Cylinder Configuration:
The Atlas BP-9F has the chain-over-roller cylinder configuration.

There are two popular hydraulic cylinder configurations used in two post electric/hydraulic above ground lifts:

Greg Smith Equipment sells above ground lifts that incorporate both the direct drive cylinder configuration and the chain-over-roller cylinder configuration.

The base plate two post above ground lift implements the chain-over-roller configuration. This is the only hydraulic cylinder system that is possible in the base plate lift. The base plate two post above ground is designed for "low ceilings". The direct drive hydraulic cylinder configuration cannot be used in the base plate lift because the hydraulic cylinder would extend above the 9' 3" column when the lift arms were raised to the maximum height.

The "overhead" two post above ground lift may incorporate either the direct drive hydraulic cylinder or the chain-over-roller hydraulic cylinder.

    Symmetrical Columns And Arms:
The Atlas BP-9F has symmetrical columns and symmetrical arms. This above ground lift has a diamond plated base plate that covers the hydraulic lines and equalization cables that run across the floor between the columns.

Two post base plate lifts CANNOT BE ASYMMETRIC! (Click Here)

    Power Unit:
The Atlas BP-9F is powered by a 220 Volt (single phase) power unit that can be mounted on a the power column. (Power column may be mounted on either side)

    Electrical Requirement:
The electric motor for the power unit requires 220 Volt (single phase) 60 Hz. We recommend using at least a 10 gauge (grounded) wire from the electrical panel. The power unit can be wired to either a quick disconnect box (mounted on or nearby the lift column) or to a male/female plug combination. A 30 amp breaker is recommended.

    Installation:
The Atlas BP-9F is sold as a complete above ground lift with a full set of solid peg truck adapters and the mounting hardware needed to mount the above ground car hoist.

Most of our above ground lift customers install their own car lifts. The average time to assemble the Atlas BP-9F car lift is four hours.

We provide detailed installation instructions with all our two post above ground lifts and our four post above ground lifts.

    Parts:
Greg Smith Equipment stocks a complete inventory of lift parts for all the lifts we sell. Lift parts and technical support personnel are available.

Certain competitors do not stock the lifts they advertise and do not stock any of the lift parts or accessories. Lifting a car is serious business.
