Requires a minimum of 4" of concrete with 3000 psi.
All lifts come with a step by step instruction manual.
The electric motor for the power unit requires 220 Volt (single phase) 60 Hz (+/- 5%, so 209-231 volts). We recommend using at least a 10 gauge (grounded) wire from the electrical panel. The power unit may or may not have a short pigtail (no plug) that can be wired to either an optional quick disconnect box (mounted on the lift column) or to a male/female plug combination. It is imperative that the lift’s power supply can be disconnected quickly in case of an emergency. Electric motor switches can fail for a variety of reasons. E.G.: abuse….wear…moisture.
If the electric switch would become compromised and the power supply to the lift needed to be disconnected immediately, a quick disconnect box or a male/female electrical plug combination will allow the operator to disconnect the power from the lift.
A 30 amp breaker is required for 220V.
Electrical switches do not last forever and many times do not give an indication of possible failure. Use common sense and make sure that you can disconnect the main power supply to your lift if needed.
Do this before you put a vehicle on your lift.
NO…but YES. Most lifts have only one column that can be used to mount the power unit. This column has the mounting bracket. Make sure that you install that specific column on the side where you want to locate the power unit.

Why would you buy anywhere else?
Atlas BP-8000 by Bob M.
A bit of a saga getting it delivered. The first one arrived within 24 hours of ordering but was damaged in shipping--not GSE' fault. The replacement unit took about 10 days to arrive. Installation went very smoothly----until I raised it the first time. The lift arm sheared the capacitors right off of the motor. I called GSE and they said they had had some problems but thought they had all been fixed. Apparently not my unit. They shipped me a new motor and a set of brackets to off-set it away from the lift arms. That shipment took another 10 days. The folks I talked with throughout this 25 day saga were always friendly and helpful. A bit of frustration with the delays, but the unit is in and working great and I love it. Good quality for the price. I would highly recommend this product. It's a dream-come-true for my home shop.
Atlas BP8000 Baseplate by Doug - verified purchaser
I recently purchased the Atlas BP8000 Baseplate rack and am very pleased with the performance and quality. The rack arrived on time and with all the parts and pieces. I was able to assemble this myself. The instructions that were supplied seemed to missing steps, but I was able to figure them out. I am very happy with this purchase and only sad that I didn't make this purchase years ago. It would have made my life much easier than rolling around on the ground under the cars.
Atlas® BP8000 Baseplate by Norm - verified purchaser
I choose a base plate due to the 10 foot ceilings in my garage. I purchased my Altas BP8000 from the Hudson, NH location. The staff at Hudson was very knowledgeable and careful when loading the lift on my trailer. Did the install alone using chain falls to raise the columns, total install time was about 3 hours including drilling the anchor holes. Before doing your install read the manual first then check out youtube for some install videos. Very happy with lift so far. Well built with a fair price. Also purchased jack stands for extra safety. Works great lifting my pickup and wifes car.

BP8000 by Ray T. - verified purchaser
Picked up my BP8000 in your Atlanta George location. This unit in my opinion is put together well , all the welds are good and all the parts were there. The web site has more information than any other manufacturer hands down. Column thickness, single point lock release and warranty had me sold. I have 7" of 4000 psi concrete so I purchased longer anchor bolts. The only improvement could be with the instruction book, a little vague. I am very happy with my BP8000. Ray T................

I am very pleased with the lift i purchased from Greg Smith Equipment. Easy to assemble and install (I did it by myself in about 2 hrs) . I bought it for a specific job, and not only did i save the price of the lift by doing the repair myself, i have made money doing repairs for friends as well. definitely worth the money. i would also recommend Greg Smith, and will definitely go back for future purchases.
Easier than you might think by Matt W - verified purchaser
Installing the BP8000 is easier than you might think it is, and it's a solid piece of equipment. The instructions are good (use the PDF online rather than the printed version, the PDF has much higher resolution photographs), and the unit itself is solid and well designed. A buddy and I did the install in around 12 hours being very careful and making several trips to the local Lowes for tools and fasteners.Having installed the unit only a couple of weeks ago, I've already used it for simple maintenance on all of our vehicles, including doing a PPI on a car I ended up buying. Greg Smith is great to deal with, and the lift is well-built with solid safety features.Final note: don't cheap out on the hammerdrill. It took me an hour to drill two holes with the cheap one, and 25 minutes to drill the rest of them with the good one.
Excellent Quality by S.D - verified purchaser
I've had the BP8000 for about 5 months. Everything about this lift is quality and I really like the single point safety release avoiding the need to walk under the vehicle to individually unlock the carriage. I installed the entire lift myself using the provided instructions with no issue. Nice price, quick shipping, and excellent customer service.
Great lift by Gary - verified purchaser
I have looked around for a lift at different dealers and models. I really wanted a 9000lb But the features on the bp8000 was too hard to pass up. I love the single release and the triple front arms it really helped me out because I have a short garage. It picks up my 2008 GMC Denali 4 Dr crew cab with ease. Installation was pretty simple I installed it myself. I am an automotive tech and seen alot of lifts and this is great for my use at home. Atlas lifts are built very good. And highly recommend one.
Great Product by Dan - verified purchaser
I searched quite a while for a lift and came across the BP8000 which has all the features I was looking for and at a good price. We picked the unit up at the Austin location and by doing so we saved any shipping costs. Instillation only took 1 day, the hardest part was unloading the lift. I am satisfied and would recommend the unit to anyone. The instructions could have been better but by looking on line it went together easily.

i don't know how i lived without it! by Aaron Donald - verified purchaser
I had height requirements in my garage which directed me to a baseplate lift. Other companies sell the ALI certified lifts for a thousand dollars more and upwards..........but I bought this and am VERY happy with it. It is solid, has given me no trouble, and I use it all the time. I also bought two tall jackstands that I use in conjuction with the lift's double safety mechanism just to make my wife feel safer while I'm in the garage. I also bought a transmission jack and other goodies as well. installation was an easy two-person 1-day job. Instructions were very helpful (more clarity on the cable routing would have saved me an hour). The multiple truck adapters come in handy. The motor seems super strong and lifts the vehicles up no problem, and speedily. All in all if I had to shop for lifts again (i spend months shopping and weighing out all the pros and cons) I would buy the BP8000 again and have recommended it to many people in the little time I have had it.
