Where Do I Position My Two Post Lift In My Garage?
There are many factors that will determine the best place to mount your two post lift. This and other frequently asked lift positioning related questions are answered here.

How Do I Get My Stuff Off The Truck?:
Many customers do not have access to loading docks and forklifts. We have assembled some photos of our products being unloaded with and without the aid of a forklift. Many of our freight carriers have power tailgates on their delivery trucks. There may be an extra charge for the power tailgate, depending on the carrier. The power tailgate is normally rated at 1000 LB. capacity. This is not enough capacity to unload most of our lifts. However, when used properly (and safely), the power tailgate (in conjunction with some common sense) allows the customer to off load many of our products without the use of a forklift.

Most truck shipments will be delivered by a commercial freight carrier operating a tractor/trailer rig. The semi trailer will be enclosed. Most commercial carriers have smaller straight trucks and some have small flatbed trucks, but the majority of freight companies will not use these smaller trucks for your delivery. Greg Smith Equipment cannot guarantee the type of truck that will be used for delivery. You should assume that your product will be delivered on a tractor/trailer rig that uses a 53 foot enclosed trailer. This is a VERY LONG rig. It is the truck driver's responsibility to make sure that your product is brought to the back of the delivery truck. It is the customer's responsibility to unload the product from the truck.

    Super-Symmetric Arm Configuration:
Our super symmetric arm configuration is a great improvement over the traditional asymmetric or symmetric arm configuration.

Our most asked question about our arm configuration is:
"Can I get in and out of the vehicle easily"? The Atlas BP 9000 super symmetric arm configuration allows the customer to get in and out of the vehicle with ease.

The real question should be; "Can I position the arms properly (arm pads under the correct lift points) and still get in and out of the vehicle easily"? The Atlas BP 9000 answers "YES" to this question.

    2-Stage and 3-Stage Arms:
The Atlas BP9000 includes 2-stage rear arms and 3-stage front arms which allows the operator to collapse the front arms to easily lift a short wheel based vehicle and extend the arms to raise a long wheel based vehicle.

    Features:
The Atlas BP9000 incorporates an innovative standard manual single-point safety release, automatic arm restraints, powder coat finish, and heavy-duty chain mounted over dual reliable hydraulic cylinders (one cylinder in each column).

    Chain-Over-Roller Cylinder Configuration:
The Atlas BP9000 has the chain-over-roller cylinder configuration.

There are two popular hydraulic cylinder configurations used in two post electric/hydraulic above ground lifts:

Greg Smith Equipment sells above ground lifts that incorporate both the direct drive cylinder configuration and the chain-over-roller cylinder configuration.

The base plate two post above ground lift implements the chain-over-roller configuration. This is the only hydraulic cylinder system that is possible in the base plate lift. The base plate two post above ground is designed for "low ceilings". The direct drive hydraulic cylinder configuration cannot be used in the base plate lift because the hydraulic cylinder would extend above the 9' 3" column when the lift arms were raised to the maximum height.

The "overhead" two post above ground lift may incorporate either the direct drive hydraulic cylinder or the chain-over-roller hydraulic cylinder.

    Super Single-Point Technology:
The Atlas BP9000 features a revolutionary designed manual single-point safety release system for the BP9000 9,000lb. base-plate lift. The super single-point manual release allows the operator to unlock both column locks from the power unit column.

Many manufacturers incorporate 24 volt electro-mechanical lock release systems that are complicated and unreliable. A manual single-point lock release system provides a mechanically proven system that will perform flawlessly for many years.

    Double Lock System:
Greg Smith Equipment introduces a revolutionary double lock system installed in both lift columns. This new lock system incorporates two locking mechanisms for added safety. The double lock system is automatically activated as the lift is raised. When the vehicle reaches the desired height, the lift is lowered into the next lowest locking position. When the vehicle is ready to be lowered to the ground, the double lock system is disengaged by pulling a handle located near the power unit. There is no need for the operator to go to both columns and manually unlock both column locks. All lifting and lowering operations are controlled from one column post.

Double safety locks built into each column that can be unlocked by one release lever make the Atlas BP9000 base plate lift the safest and easiest to operate base plate lift in the Industry. Two locks...one release...no hassle...available only from ATLAS!

    Electrical Requirement:
The electric motor for the power unit requires 220 Volt (single phase) 60 Hz. We recommend using at least a 10 gauge (grounded) wire from the electrical panel. The power unit has a short pigtail (no plug) that can be wired to either a quick disconnect box (mounted on the lift column) or to a male/female plug combination. A 30 amp breaker is recommended.
