The electric motor for the power unit requires 220 Volt (single phase) 60 Hz (+/- 5%, so 209-231 volts). We recommend using at least a 10 gauge (grounded) wire from the electrical panel. The power unit may or may not have a short pigtail (no plug) that can be wired to either an optional quick disconnect box (mounted on the lift column) or to a male/female plug combination. It is imperative that the lift’s power supply can be disconnected quickly in case of an emergency. Electric motor switches can fail for a variety of reasons. E.G.: abuse….wear…moisture.
If the electric switch would become compromised and the power supply to the lift needed to be disconnected immediately, a quick disconnect box or a male/female electrical plug combination will allow the operator to disconnect the power from the lift.
A 30 amp breaker is required for 220V.
Electrical switches do not last forever and many times do not give an indication of possible failure. Use common sense and make sure that you can disconnect the main power supply to your lift if needed.
Do this before you put a vehicle on your lift.
NO…but YES. Most lifts have only one column that can be used to mount the power unit. This column has the mounting bracket. Make sure that you install that specific column on the side where you want to locate the power unit.

bought this lift and have been using it for a year. work as a heavy truck mechanic and have used a lot of lifts. bought this lift for my home shop. for the price point i dont know that you can find a better lift. Build quality is very good works good on cars and will lift quad cab diesel trucks safely. have a 15k at work that's really hard to rack a car on due to size. I would buy the same lift again. i had one warranty claim for a part that failed. made one phone call and new part was on my door in 2 days. costumer service has been great. go to a show room and look i drove 200 miles and am glad i did. sales people on the floor directed me to buy a different lift than i had picked from the catalog. very glad i picked the pv10p over the other lift and the sales team was so helpful
