Description:
The Direct Lift HR8000 is a base-plate style two post car lift with symmetric columns and symmetric arm configuration. With an overall column height of 9’3”, the Direct Lift HR8000 is perfect choice for a two post above ground lift in a garage that has less than a 12 foot ceiling height.
The Direct Lift HR 8000 was previously sold as a 9,000 LB. capacity lift by Direct Lift and Greg Smith Equipment. The design of this lift has been copied by many Chinese lift manufacturers in the last five years. Greg Smith Equipment and Direct Lift are flattered to have this lift copied by many manufacturers, but we are very concerned that these same manufacturers are rating this lift with a 9,000 LB. or 10,000 LB. lifting capacity. This lift design will easily raise 10,000 LB., BUT according to the widely accepted industry standards, the Direct Lift OH 8000 is correctly rated at 8,000 LB. (Click to compare the 8 to certain competitors 10)
The Direct Lift HR 8000 is sold as a complete above ground lift with a full set of solid peg truck adapters and the mounting hardware needed to mount the above ground car hoist.
The Direct Lift HR8000 is powered by a 220 Volt (single phase) power unit that can be mounted on either side of the above ground lift.
Symmetric Columns And Arms:
The HR 8000 includes a symmetric column configuration with a symmetric arm configuration, offering one of the widest drive through widths in the Industry.

Two Post Secondary Lock System:
Greg Smith Equipment and The Dover Corporation are pleased to introduce the new Two Post Secondary Lock System.

Dual Post Safety Release System:
The Direct Lift HR 8000 has a dual point safety release system. Most above ground base plate lifts incorporate this dual point safety release system because the single point safety release system works better on the two post overhead above ground lifts.
Hydraulic Cylinder Configurations:
There are two popular hydraulic cylinder configurations used in two post electric/hydraulic above ground lifts:
Greg Smith Equipment sells above ground lifts that incorporate both the direct drive cylinder configuration and the chain-over-roller cylinder configuration.
The base plate two post above ground lift implements the chain-over-roller configuration. This is the only hydraulic cylinder system that is possible in the base plate lift. The base plate two post above ground is designed for “low ceilings”. The direct drive hydraulic cylinder configuration cannot be used in the base plate lift because the hydraulic cylinder would extend above the 9’ 3” column when the lift arms were raised to the maximum height.
The “overhead” two post above ground lift may incorporate either the direct drive hydraulic cylinder or the chain-over-roller hydraulic cylinder.
Flow Restrictor:
Greg Smith Equipment and the Dover Corporation are proud to announce that many of our two post and four post lifts manufactured in our off shore factory (after 08-01-07) have flow restrictor valves installed in the hydraulic system. Some lifts do not require a flow restrictor.
Safety Labels:
In a concerted effort to improve customer awareness as to the correct operation of our two post and four post above ground lifts. The Dover Corporation and RLC are affixing the ANSI (ALI/101S) safety labels to our Atlas and Direct above ground vehicle lifts (after 08-01-07). These ANSI (ALI/101S) safety labels help to alert the operator as to certain potential dangers that may exist in the normal operation of the lift.
Installation:
Most of our above ground lift customers install their own car lifts. The average time to install the Direct Lift HR8000 car lift is four hours.
We provide detailed installation instructions with all our two post above ground lifts and our four post above ground lifts.
