Greg Smith Equipment spends millions each year with freight companies. We receive the best possible discount from our freight carriers and extend those low freight rates to our customers. All products purchased from a Greg Smith Equipment location may be picked up at the most convenient location (if in stock), OR the product may be shipped via UPS or via a LTL truck carrier. The customer is responsible for the freight costs unless otherwise stated.
When you purchase a product (that needs to be shipped) from Greg Smith Equipment, our sales people will quote the freight cost to your zip code. Some freight carriers have additional charges for residential delivery, power tail gate, or "call ahead" notification. Our customers will be informed of the total freight charges BEFORE the entire invoice is completed. Greg Smith Equipment extends our huge freight discount to our customers. When our customer makes the purchase, there are two separate line items on the invoice. The customer is charged for the product on one line and separately for the freight on another line. Greg Smith Equipment pays the commercial carrier for the freight with money collected from our customer. This method is defined as FOB Origin, Freight Prepaid & Add. Please become familiar with the freight definitions found on this link FOB DEFINITION - SHIPPING TERMS OF SALE.
