Other Lifts Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

The Atlas® TD6MR lift is very stable when in operation and when raised to the highest locked position. This lift is perfect for body work or wheel service and the extra wide platform provides maximum stability for raised vehicles (up to 6,000 lbs.)

If you have just received a NEW lift OR your Motorcycle lift has not been used for a period of time...the cylinder seal may be stuck and needs a little "lubricated jump start". If there does not appear to be an air leak from either your air hose or the lift cylinder...and if you have supplied the lift with about 100 PSI...and you have NOT overloaded the lift...then have two people lift slightly on the platform. The "extra" help may free a stuck seal. Remember to keep the cylinder seal properly lubricated. (See owner's manual). When the seal becomes dry (and brittle), it can become stuck in the cylinder. A lubricated seal (that does not leak) will ensure the proper lifting for your motorcycle lift.

If you notice an air leak from the cylinder; then you need a new seal kit.

KEEP THE SEAL LUBRICATED! For best results, use Air Tool Oil.

Most Atlas® motorcycle lift products are made from 10 gauge diamond plate steel. .

Most of our mid-rise lifts and lo-rise lifts are operated by a 110V power unit motor and operate on normal household current.

Large (full height) scissor lifts may require up to 5 gallons.

Mid-rise lifts require about two gallons. Check the technical information page for each lift's hydraulic oil requirements.

Hydraulic fluids can typically be found at most local parts, home improvement, or tractor supply stores. Learn more about hydraulic oils.

Shipping regulations will not permit Greg Smith Equipment Sales from shipping hydraulic fluid

Yes...you probably did (and lost it). However, most installation manuals are available on our web site. We can also mail, fax, or email a copy to you.

Yes, but most lifts have only one column that can be used to mount the power unit. This column has the mounting bracket (and maybe the lock release bracket) welded to it. Make sure that you install that specific column where you want the power unit.

Most lo-rise and midrise lifts are warranted for (2) years on structural components and (1) years on hydraulic power units and cylinders from invoice date.

Most Atlas® motorcycle lifts are warranted for (1) year on structural components and 90 days on air / hydraulic power units, pneumatic cylinders and components from invoice date.
